Heat Treatment
Heat Treatment with Fluidized Temperature Baths
For tempering, annealing, hardening and Nitinol shape-setting
Fluidized temperature baths provide a precise, uniform and powerful heat source for a wide range of heat-treatment applications. They are ideal for processes where temperature stability and repeatability are critical, such as Nitinol shape-setting, materials research, metal processing and quality control.
A.T.S. fluidized baths are available with temperature ranges from –100°C to +1100°C, supporting both low-temperature and high-temperature thermal processes.
Why Heat Treatment in a Fluidized Bath?
Perfect Temperature Uniformity
The aluminum-oxide media fully surrounds the workpiece, creating an exceptionally stable temperature profile. This allows components to be hardened, tempered or annealed without distortion.
Fast Heat Transfer
The liquid-like motion of the media significantly reduces heat-up times. This saves energy and enables faster testing or production cycles.
Safe and inert
Unlike salt baths or conventional ovens, aluminum oxide provides an inert, non-corrosive and explosion-safe medium. This allows even sensitive medical or metallic components to be processed reliably.
