Thermal Cleaning
Thermal Cleaning with Fluidized Temperature Baths
A safe, fast and chemical-free solution for European industry
Thermal cleaning with a fluidized temperature bath is an extremely effective method for removing polymers, coatings, plastics, oils and other organic materials from tooling and components. Unlike chemical baths or traditional ovens, a fluidized bath provides fast, uniform and controlled cleaning without hazardous fumes, corrosion or damage to parts.
As the official European distributor of Accurate Thermal Systems (A.T.S.), IPPN supplies advanced fluidized temperature baths specifically engineered for demanding industrial applications. These systems use inert aluminum-oxide media that becomes fluidized by an upward air flow, behaving like a liquid. This enables direct and highly uniform heat transfer.
Why Thermal Cleaning with a Fluidized Bath?
Faster Cleaning than Ovens or Chemical Methods
The high heat-transfer efficiency of aluminum oxide significantly reduces cleaning times. Whereas ovens often require many minutes to bring tooling up to temperature, a fluidized bath reaches the required process conditions rapidly, allowing polymers or coatings to be removed much more efficiently.
(Environmental) Safety
Fluidized baths use no chemicals, solvents or salt-based media. There is no risk of corrosion, moisture-induced explosions or harmful fumes. This makes the method suitable for laboratories, medical manufacturing, plastics processing, automotive, offshore and R&D environments.
Uniform Temperature without Hotspots
The aluminum-oxide media fully surrounds the object being cleaned, ensuring exceptionally consistent temperatures. This prevents deformation or damage to tooling and complex geometries.

Applications in the Industry and Labs
Fluidized baths are used for applications such as:
- Cleaning extrusion dies and nozzles
- Removing epoxy, coatings and polymer residues
- Cleaning medical instruments
- Tooling maintenance in plastics, automotive and metal production
- Laboratory processes and quality-control workflows
